The GOP shared its new tagline on Monday, tweeting a graphic that features an image of Trump and the text: "We're only getting stronger together." It was posted after Trump used the phrase during his Monday night rally in El Paso, Texas. The situation sent many reeling, with former Clinton spokesperson Jesse Ferguson tweeting, "Trump's 2020 slogan is Stronger Together? Um, my head hurts," and writer Molly Knight commenting, "'Stronger Together' was literally Hillary's slogan. I'm so embarrassed for you." Notably, "Stronger Together" was also the name of a book written by Clinton and her running mate Senator Tim Kaine. Steve Guest, a spokesperson for the Republican National Committee, brushed off the criticism, telling The Hill: "When you lose your campaign, you lose your monopoly on any slogans."
