Clemency Recipient Alice Johnson Lands Book and Movie Deal Alice Marie Johnson was granted clemency
in June of 2018 thanks in part to the
efforts of Kim Kardashian West. West spent months speaking with
Jared Kushner and lobbied for Johnson's
release directly to President Trump. 63-year-old Johnson had been sentenced to life for a first-time, non-violent drug offense and spent over 20 years in prison. Now, her book 'After Life: My Journey From Incarceration to Freedom' is set to be released on May 21. The book is a memoir of Johnson’s life
and experiences dealing with the issues
