Bhagavad Gita - Chapter 2 - Stanza 41, 42 & 43

1 The wordings of forty-first stanza are as follows;
|| Vyavasayatmika Buddhir Ekeha Kuru-Nandana
Bahu-Shakha Hyanantash Cha Buddhayo ’Vyavasayinam ||41||
2 This verse can be roughly translated as;
O beloved child of the Kurus, the intellect of those who are on this path is firm and their aim is one-pointed. However, the intellect of those who proceed on the path of uncertainty will indeed have unlimited and diverse branches.
3 Here, Lord Krishna is trying to explain that any person of resolute intellect strongly cultivates a single-minded focus on the goal. This mentally strong individual cannot be deterred from following the righteous path.
4The forty-second and forty-third stanzas are as follows;
|| Yamimam Pushpitam Vacham Pravadanty-Avipashchitah
Veda-Vada-Ratah Partha Nanyad Astiti Vadinah ||42||
|| Kamatmanah Swarga-Para Janma-Karma-Phala Pradam
Kriya-Vishesha-Bahulam Bhogaishwarya-Gatim Prati ||43||
5 These verses can be translated as follows;
O Partha, those with limited knowledge presume speculative interpretation of the Vedas, that promote the pretentious rituals for elevation to the celestial abodes, resultant good birth, power, and so forth. They glorify only those portions of the Vedas that are pleasing to their senses and neglect any other (transcendental) principle that is described in them.
