1 Pancha Bhoota Sthala is a set of five temples that are dedicated to Lord Shiva in South India.

2 The Shiva Lingas in these temples represents the five prime elements, which are earth, water, fire, air and sky.

3 Ekambareshwar temple is the first one in this list, which is located in Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu.

4 The second temple is Jambukeshwar temple in Tiruvanaika, where an everlasting underground spring flows at the foot of the Linga.

5 The third temple called Annamlaiyar is located at Tiruvannamalai, where Lord Shiva appeared in his Ardhanarishwar form.

6 Srikalahasti temple in Chittoor district is the fourth temple where the Swayambhu (self-manifested) Linga is not touched even by the priests.

7 Thillai Nataraja Temple at Chidambaram is the fifth temple, where Lord Shiva appears in the form of the cosmic dancer Nataraj.

8 Each of these Linga is called with a distinct name based on particular elements of nature that they represent.

9 These respective names are Prithvi Linga, Appu Linga, Agni Linga (Jyothi Linga), Vayu Linga and Akasha Linga (Aagaya Linga).
