A pair of 55-metre-long and five-metre-wide couplets have been created in the hometown of Chinese calligraphy on January 28.

The video, filmed in Shijiazhuang City in Hebei Province, shows hundreds of people writing Fu (fortune) character on a square platform in the middle of the set of couplets.

Several calligraphers wrote out the couplets themselves on site to send out best wishes.

The World Record Association (WRA) declared the 648-square-metre couplets as the largest couplets in the world.
