Howard Schultz Says Trump Is 'Despicable'

Howard Schultz slammed President Trump in a CNN interview.

Former Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz recently described President Trump as "despicable."  That was the word he used when CNN's Poppy Harlow asked for his immediate reaction upon hearing Trump's name.  Schultz announced on Sunday that he is considering running for president as an independent.
He has since received a great deal of criticism from a number of Democrats, notes the Washington Post. Some have expressed concern that his participation in the 2020 race will weaken the party's agenda and dilute its voter pool, handing Trump a second term. A former adviser for New York Governor Andrew Cuomo addressed both matters, telling CNBC: "First there is the math problem, where it will be an empirical fact that he divides the electorate to Trump's advantage. Second, is the messaging issue. He's equating Medicare to the Trump wall. If he gets into the race, he will gain no votes but with comments like that, he will be doing potentially irreparable damage to Democratic nominees." Notably, Schultz said in a recent '60 Minutes' interview that "some Democrats' proposals for universal health care 'is something as false as the wall' and something 'the country cannot afford,'" reports CNBC.
