Male to Female Birth Ratio Will Be Affected by Climate Change, Says Study New research from Japan suggests that in places where climate change leads to warmer temperatures, more baby boys will be born. In places where the environment is impacted in other ways, fewer males will be born. The study found that external stress factors especially affect the conception of male children. Several recent disasters in Japan were considered, including the earthquake and nuclear disaster in 2011. According to the study, areas that suffered most had a 6% to 14% decline in the birth of baby boys 9 months later. Ray Catalano, UC Berkeley, via CNN
