High Court Judge Mumbi Ngugi has suspended closure of private schools in the country.
Officials of the Kenya Private School Association moved to court on Monday morning to challenge the government’s decision to close all schools including private schools.
Meanwhile, the Kenya National Parents Association Secretary General Musau Ndunda wants the Ministry of Education to authorise all schools that have closed to refund parents third term fees.
He says most schools are unlikely to carry the fees paid for third term to next year as ordered by President Uhuru Kenyatta.
He says parents will move to court to sue the government if a directive for a refund is not issued within the next seven days.
