Walmart won't be joining the streaming service competition. Digital Trends reports Walmart's streaming platform was previously reported to be going live under the Vudu banner, which Walmart bought in 2010. However, Walmart was told it would have to invest significantly in developing original content. Netflix’s large original content budget, which is more than $10 billion annually, has worried Walmart. Instead, the company says it plans to focus on its existing Vudu business, which sells and rents movies and shows directly to consumers.
