In this session I decided to get on the trail on those elusive big perch for an hour or so before dark, with a view to dropping down the stretch just a few metres to fish a gravel run after dusk had fallen, where I would concentrate on the chub and barbel.
Unusually, for fishing, the stars aligned and everything fell into place and went as planned. I must be doing something right...
