Joe MarucaI wonder what inspired Bernie Taupin to write the lyrics for this song. As he’s described it, he writes lyrics and gives them to Elton who then reviews them and applies music to them and they become songs. That’s been their process since the early days. So, for this song, it would be interesting to interview Taupin and hear from him about what inspired the lyrics.
