Weaver ants attack greater banded hornet

Footage shows a greater banded hornet locked in a battle with weaver ants in Singapore on November 20.

The hornet (vespa tropica) was set upon by the army of ants after it landed on the branch of a tree where they had been nesting.

Their dual ended with the wasp eventually succumbing to the painful bites and sprays of formic acid from the ants. It was then carried away back to their nest.
