Last week, the Trump Administration released a report on Climate Change. Huffington Post reports that President Trump does not believe the findings of the report. The report, from the Administrations own Science experts, claims the planet is headed towards an irreversible climate crisis. Where does the report leave the nuclear power industry? Nuclear plants are being replaced by coal and gas-burning facilities. The nuclear industry blames high maintenance costs, competition from cheaper alternatives and hostile regulators for its decline. The country’s most water-intensive source of electricity faces what could be an even bigger problem. Climate change increases the risk of drought and taxes already crumbling water infrastructure.
