Girl Knocked Down By Bus After Running To See Friend

This is the nightmare moment every parent dreads - their child running into the road being knocked over by a car. Five-year-old nursery school pupil Ashley Acibar let go of her mother's hand when saw her friend on the opposite side of the street in Batangas City, the Philippines on November 15. The youngster dashed excitedly out across the road without looking - and straight into the path of a jeepney passenger bus. CCTV cameras on the street captured the moment the vehicle hit the youngster sending her skidding forwards before her right leg was trapped beneath the wheel. Miraculously, she was able to stand up afterwards before the driver jumped down and lifted her into the back of the car to be driven straight to hospital - in the same vehicle which had just collided with her.
