President Trump blamed Democrats for the recent stock market decline.
President Trump on Monday blamed the declining state of the stock market on Democrats. He tweeted: "The prospect of Presidential Harassment by the Dems is causing the Stock Market big headaches!" A number of House Democrats have expressed intentions to investigate a variety of matters involving Trump and his administration. The Washington Post reports, they include looking into the recently appointed acting attorney general Matthew Whitaker, who has, in the past, voiced forceful opposition to special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 election and the possible involvement of members of the Trump campaign. Potential inquiries into whether or not Trump has attempted to use his power to negatively impact the owners of media outlets including CNN and the Washington Post have also been mentioned. The day after the recent midterm elections that put Democrats in control of the House of Representatives come January, Trump tweeted: "If the Democrats think they are going to waste Taxpayer Money investigating us at the House level, then we will likewise be forced to consider investigating them for all of the leaks of Classified Information, and much else, at the Senate level.
