Missy Elliott Gets Historical Songwriters Hall of Fame Nomination The “Work It” artist is the first female rapper to receive the honorable nomination. The MC has been praised for her hits like “Get Your Freak On” and “Lose Control.” Elliot could become the third rapper accepted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame, joining Jay-Z and Jermaine Dupri.
