LL Cool J & Ice Cube Are
Trying to Buy Sports TV Stations According to TMZ, the
two entertainment veterans are part of a "powerful
group looking to bid on
22 regional sports channels." The channels became available to purchase because of Disney. Lawmakers think Disney shouldn't
be able to own all of Fox's sports
stations since they already own ESPN. They are being forced to sell
by the Justice Department. Within the channels up
for sale is the YES Network. The YES Network alone
is estimated to be worth
between $5 and $6 billion. The deal for all 22 channels
is expected to be between
$15 and $25 billion. Ice Cube and LL Cool J
have teamed up with billionaire Carolyn Rafaelian — Alex and Ani jewelry founder —
for the deal. Bids are due by November 8.
