Eight Countries Granted Iran Sanctions Waivers By US
  • 5 years ago

Reuters reports that the U.S. government has agreed to let eight countries keep buying Iranian oil after it reimposes sanctions on Tehran next week. The countries include close allies South Korea and Japan, as well as India.
Iran’s biggest oil customers are all in Asia. They have been seeking sanctions waivers to allow them to continue buying some of its oil. They have argued that a total ban would spur a further rally in the price of crude.
