Tesla To Begin Producing Some Cars In China To Reduce Tariff Impact

According to Reuters, Tesla Inc said on Friday that they have begun developing plans to produce approximately 3,000 Model 3 vehicles per week in China. The decision to produce in Shanghai comes as part of the initial phase of its Gigafactory 3, designed to reduce the impact of tariffs. The company also said in a filing that Model S and Model X sales in China have been, and will likely continue to be negatively impacted by recently increased tariffs imposed by the Chinese government on U.S.
