According to Reuters, Chinese President Xi Jinping expressed hope and optimism for negotiations between Beijing and Washington DC. While speaking with state media, President Xi said he hoped China and the United States would develop a steady and health relationship, and expand bilateral trade cooperation. President Xi's comments followed a phone call with US President Donald Trump ahead of the G-20 Summit in Argentina, where the two presidents may meeting.
