FDA Bans Use Of Lead Acetate In Hair Dye

According to Allure, the FDA ordered the removal of lead from hair color formulas.
Over 40 years ago, lead acetate was approved as a color additive of hair dyes.
But FDA commissioner Scott Gottlieb said our understanding of lead exposure has significantly changed since then, which is why lead acetate no longer meets safety standards.
Commissioner Gottleib added that lead exposure can have serious adverse effects on human health, especially children.
