According to a report by Digital Trends, former Guardians of the Galaxy writer and director James Gunn is reportedly in talks to write, and potentially direct, the next Suicide Squad for Warner Bros. Pictures and the live-action DC Comics cinematic universe. The possible film would reportedly be an entirely new take on the property, meaning it would not be a direct sequel to the 2016 film written and directed by David Ayer.
