1,000-foot-long spider webs in Greece are just a massive orgy

AITOLIKO, GREECE — The beautifully picturesque beaches of Aitoliko have been covered in a whole lot of spider loving recently.

In a video posted to YouTube by Giannis Giannakopoulos, networks of spider webs stretching a 1,000-feet-long are shown covering shrubs and beach palms.
According to Newsit.gr, who asked biology expert Maria Chatzaki, the massive webs of love happen every summer.
According to Live Science, spiders commonly known as "stretch spiders" for their long, ovular bodies, have an affinity for the water and are great web builders.
The massive web networks are great for catching insects and nesting.
The warm temperatures and high humidity of the Greek coasts create the perfect mating conditions for the spiders.
