Puto Bumbong

ingredients:

1/2 kg glutinous rice flour
1 tbsp violet food color
4 tbsp ube powder(optional)
2 cups water
3 tbsp margarine

toppings:

4 cups fresh grated coconut
165g grated cheese
250g condensed milk

Procedure:

1) In a bowl combine glutinous rice flour, ube powder and violet food color
2) Gradually add water and mix well with your hand until clay like texture
3) Grate the galapong
4) Prepare a pan wrap with aluminum foil and brush it with margarine or cooking oil
5) Roll 1/4 cup galapong into a cylinder or a log
6) Steam over low heat for 4-5 minutes. *don't forget to wrap the lid with clean cloth to prevent water from dripping into the puto bumbong
7) Brush containers with margarine
8) Place four puto bumbong inside and brush it with margarine
9) Top it with a handful of grated coconut
10)Add condensed milk
