Members of the public took to the streets of Athens on September 18, marking five years since 34-year-old activist and singer Pavlos Fyssas was assassinated by a member of the Greek neo-nazi Golden Dawn party.

The memorial turned violent as demonstrators clashed with police, with molotov cocktails and rocks thrown by the public prompting officers to respond with tear gas.
