Speaking at the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok on Wednesday,... President Putin highlighted the need for the international community to guarantee the security of the North Korean regime.
He also said the North's leader Kim Jong-un is welcome to visit Russia at any time.

"What guarantees can be there? International guarantees. We have a format known as the six-party talks, and the international community can give such guarantees."

Referring to the six-party framework,... the Russian leader seemed to stress the need for other nuclear powers to play a bigger role in the discussions aimed at denuclearizing the Korean Peninsula.
Putin also said North Korea has made progress to denuclearize the Korean Peninsula,... yet such efforts were met with no response from Washington.

"North Korea has taken certain steps on denuclearization, it has destroyed its nuclear testing ground, but it's clearly waiting for some signals in response. I believe it is counter-productive when it is expected from North Korea to do everything, but nothing is demanded from the opposite side.

Yet, at the same time,... Putin highly praised President Trump's initiative to interact with the North,... saying he has demonstrated courage and an innovative approach.
