Indianapolis Firefighters Save Boys Found Clinging to Branch in Creek

Firefighters rescued two boys who fell into a creek in Indianapolis, Indiana on Monday, September 10.This video shows one 12-year-old boy clinging to a branch in Fall Creek before being led to safety by firefighters. Meanwhile, firefighters used a rope bag to rescue the 13-year-old boy, the Indy Star reported.The dramatic rescue happened in the creek near the junction of North Keystone Ave and Old Allisonville Road.A fire department spokesman said the rescue took less than half an hour after they arrived on scene at 6pm.Writing on Facebook, the spokesman said witnesses stayed on scene to guide them to the boys after calling 911.“It is unclear how long the boys had been on the water, however they said it was sometime after school,” he said. “When asked if the boys played on the water in that area before, they both said no and said they had only ridden their bikes to the area today. Two witnesses spotted the boys stranded on the creek and activated the 911 response.
