According to Reuters, the S&P and Nasdaq squeezed some gains out of a sluggish trading day. But the Dow Jones ended the day about 20-points down. Around the closing bell on Sept. 10th, S&P 500 was up over 8-points, while the Nasdaq Composite added about 25-points. By noon, ten of the S&P's eleven major indexes were trading up, led by gains for the industrial and energy sectors. But Nike provided a boost to the markets on Wall Street after jumping 2.4-percent due to increased Labor Day sales.
