Nike Shares Dip 2 Percent On Heels Of Boycott
  • 6 years ago
According to Reuters, shares of Nike Inc fell nearly 2 percent on Tuesday following calls for a boycott of the sportswear brand. The shunning of the athletic brand comes on the heels of Nike choosing Colin Kaepernick as the face of its 30th anniversary "Just Do It" marketing campaign. The advertisements feature the former San Francisco 49er quarterback, who was the first NFL player to kneel during the national anthem as a protest against racism. While some consumers have taken to posting photos of themselves burning their Nike apparel, many others have celebrated Nike taking a stand on social issues.
