SAMIHA TAWFIK BELLYDANCER WITH SHEKOKO

This clip is from the 1954 film Tahia al Regala with Karem Mahmoud Sherifah Maher, Samiha Tawfik and Shecoco. Samiha Tawfik was a dancer and actress who appeared in more than 60 Egyptian films. In this clip she dances on the rooftop of a Cairo apartment building with Shecoco. Sherifah Maher plays the part of her sister who is in love with Karem Mahmoud's character. The part of their angry stepmother is potrayed by comedy actress Zeinat Sedki who played similar roles in many Egyptian films, including Afrita Hanem where she played the part of Warda. Curiously, Zeinat Sedki began her career as a dancer but did not have much success.
