Helicopter Delivers Life Jackets for People Stranded in Uvalde Floodwaters

A helicopter delivered a bundle of life jackets to people surrounded by floodwaters in Chalk Bluff Park in Uvalde, Texas, on Sunday, August 12, as part of a rescue operation west of San Antonio carried out by the Uvalde County Sheriff’s Office.Heavy rainfall triggered flooding from the Nueces River, resulting in the river rising about 12 feet after seven inches of rain fell over the weekend, according to KSAT. The Uvalde County Sheriff’s Office reported that several people were stranded in Chalk Buff Park due to the flooding and were unable to exit.
