Storm tears roof off station in Germany

This is the dramatic moment a storm tore the roof off a station in Mannheim, Germany on Thursday.

According to the filmer of the clip, Christian Schaufelberger, storm clouds swept over the marshalling yard in Mannheim at around 3pm local time.

High winds then began to whip fallen branches and other debris into the air, Schaufelberger said.

Suddenly, the swirling winds hit the workshop of the marshalling yard, wrenching the roof from the building and then tossing it onto the track below where several locomotives were parked.

Fortunately, nobody was hurt in the incident, according to Schaufelberger.

"The damage is enormous, the technical relief organization was alerted and the building had to be evacuated," Schaufelberger said.
