Opioid Overuse Quadruples Among Pregnant Women

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has seen a rise in opioid overuse. According to UPI, pregnant women have quadrupled their opioid overuse over 15 years. Opioid overuse during pregnancy has been linked to negative health outcomes. This could include maternal death, preterm birth, stillbirth and neonatal abstinence syndrome. According to the CDC directors, these numbers show the impact of the opioid epidemic.
