News of the arrest of Zimbabwe's Movement for Democratic Change Alliance senior member Tendai Biti was received with wide spread concern yesterday. Biti was detained while trying to seek political asylum in Zambia after an alleged attempt on his life. He was allegedly being investigated by authorities for violating that country's electoral law by declaring MDC Alliance leader Nelson Chamisa the winner of the recent elections.
