President Trump declared a state of emergency for California on Saturday.
The declaration came as the Carr Fire ravaged the city of Redding in Northern California.
Business Insider reports the fire has destroyed over 500 structures, and 5,000 more are threatened.
Around 37,000 people remain under evacuation orders. Only 5% of the blaze is contained.
The declaration authorizes the DHS and FEMA to coordinate disaster recovery efforts.
