UK Ethics Council Claims Genetically Modified Babies Are ‘Morally Permissible’

According to a report by Gizmodo, the UK's Nuffield Council on Bioethics claims that it is acceptable to genetically engineer human embryos as long as the modifications aren't harmful to the child or society as a whole. The council is reportedly one of the most forward-thinking ethics boards in the world, who in 2012 approved a controversial fertility treatment requiring three genetic parents.
