Giant spider terrorizes Liverpool

It’s something straight out of the art of Shirow Masamune – a 50 foot long, 40 ton robotic spider is menacing the peaceful residents of Liverpool, England.

For the past week, the spider has been hanging dormant from local landmarks; but this Friday through Sunday, the beast will roam the streets of England’s sixth largest city, terrorizing helpless Liverpudlians.

The spider, inexplicably dubbed “La Princess,” has 50 points of articulations, and is operated by 12 humans strapped inside.

The French arts collective La Machine built the robo-arachnid. The group previously crashed a rocket in London's Waterloo Place, and built a 40-foot-high mechanical elephant.
