Judge Reluctantly Sentences Man To Forty Years, But Makes Unusual Request

A 37-year-old Washington, DC resident was arrested in a major undercover sweep for dealing meth.
Newser reports it was the man's first serious criminal offense. Still, he got a forty year sentence.
That's because he handled a gun that the dealer--who sold him the met--had in his car.
Judge TS Ellis III called the sentence "excessive" and made an unusual move.
He asked prosecutors to find a way to get the sentence reduced--but they couldn't.
