ZeeZee the Chimp Welcomes a New Baby! ZeeZee's baby is the first western chimpanzee born at England's Chester Zoo in over a decade. The western chimpanzee, a subspecies of the common chimpanzee, is considered to be "critically endangered." Chester Zoo aims to protect the subspecies with its conservation program. A spokesman for Chester Zoo told Reuters that the young chimp will be named soon.
