The first instalment of The Egg, Phase One: Group A, produced 64 goals in the thirteen games played between the six contenders. This video shows the eight nominations for the best of those goals. Goal A – Lina Magull’s powerful right foot drive from outside the box to draw Germany Women level in their 3-1 victory over United States Women.
Goal B – Stallone Limbombe’s long-range left-footed rocket into the top corner of Club Brugge’s goal for Royal Antwerp FC’s third in their 9-0 victory.
Goal C – Sinan Bolat’s crazy goal, as the goalkeeper dribbled the length of the pitch before smashing the ball into the top corner to score Royal Antwerp’s eighth goal in their 9-0 win over Club Brugge.
Goal D – Kristian Pedersen’s cool effort as he slots the ball home following a mazy run cutting in from the left to score Union Berlin’s fourth goal in their 5-0 demolition of Ingolstadt.
Goal E – Lionel Messi’s left-footed effort to score Adidas All-Stars’ sixth goal in their 9-1 triumph over MLS All-Stars.
Goal F - Gonzalo Higuaín’s powerful left-footed drive, after cutting in from the right, to open the scoring in Juventus’ 3-1 win over Inter.
Goal G - Gonzalo Higuaín’s second, slightly similar to his first but smashed home with his right foot.
Goal H – Blaise Matuidi rounding off a lightening run through the Inter defence by smashing a right-footed shot into the back of the net for Juve’s third against Inter.
