Wheelchair users half mile detour at train station

Wheelchair users have slammed an "inaccessible" town centre train station because they have to go on a detour to change platforms - measuring more than HALF A MILE. Passengers unable to tackle the stairs currently have to go on a 20-minute trip around the perimeter of Crawley Railway Station to go between the platforms, as there is no disabled access within the station. Now local campaigners, who have been fighting for the station to change for more than 20 years, have reached the end of their tether, after funding to put the problem right was REFUSED by the Department of Transport.
