Britain's oldest female offshore worker

Ninety mile-an-hour gales, helicopter rides through lightning storms, communal showers and chauvinistic men. These are some of the challenges endured by one of Britain's oldest FEMALE offshore workers, Pat Thomson. Known as "Auntie Pat" or "The Queen" by her rig workers, the 72 year-old great-grandmother, originally from Stirling, said: "It was very scary, especially being the only female on a rig full of men."
