Sears Will Close 72 Stores After 12 Percent Quarterly Sales Drop Sears Holdings Corp has announced they have identified 100 non-profitable stores. 72 of which will be closing in the near future, about 8 percent of their remaining locations. The company reported quarterly total revenues of approximately $2.9 billion, a $.4.2 billion drop from the same quarter a year ago. In spring 2017, Sears Holdings Corp said that "substantial doubt exists related to the Company's ability to continue as a going concern." Sears has not yet announced which stores will close.
