चैल, हिमाचल प्रदेश के सोलन जिले में स्थित है। समुंदरी तट से 2226 मीटर ऊँची और सध टिब पहाड़ी पर स्थित यह स्थान बहुत सुंदर है। लोर्ड़ किच्नर के आदेश अनुसार पटियाला के महाराजा, अधिराज भूपिंदर सिंह को शिमला से निर्वासित कर दिये गए, इसका बदला लेने के लिए उन्होंने चैल को अपनी गीष्मकालीन राजधानी बना कर यहाँ सुंदर चैल महल का निर्माण किया।
चैल महल का निर्माण 1891 में हुआ और यह चैल की शाही वीरासत है। इसके अलावा चैल का वन्यजीव अभयारण्य जहाँ कई प्रकार के पेड़ पौधे पाए जाते हैं, चैल के प्रमुख आकर्षण का केंद्र हैं। इस अभयारण्य में कई वन्यजीव जैसे इंडियन मुन्टैक, तेंदुआ, कलगीदार साही, जंगली सूअर, गोरल, साम्भर, यूरोपीय लाल हिरण पाए जाते हैं।
चैल का क्रिकेट और पोलो मैदान समुंदरी तट से 2444 मीटर ऊँचा है। यह दुनिया का सब से ऊँचा स्थित क्रिकेट मैदान है। अब यह चैल सैन्य पाठशाला के अंतर्गत है गुरुद्वारा साहिब, काली का टिब्बा, महाराजा महल यहाँ के प्रमुख पर्यटक स्थल है। यह ट्रैकिंग और फिशिंग के लिए उत्तम स्थान है। चैल जाने के लिए रोड मार्ग, रेल मार्ग, हवाई मार्ग की सेवा उपलब्ध है। इस स्थान को देकने का सबसे बढ़िया समय मार्च और मई के बीच है जब यहाँ सर्दी होती है। यहाँ का मधुर वातावरण गर्मियों में भी सैलानियों को अपनी ओर आकर्षित करता है।

In this sanctuary, many wildlife such as Indian Montak, Leopard, Kargilar Sahi, Wild boar, Goral, Sambhar, European red deer are found.
Chal's cricket and polo grounds are 2444 meters high from the sea shore. It is the highest cricket ground in the world. Now this Chail is under the Military School, the Gurudwara Sahib, the Kali dune, Maharaja Mahal is the main tourist spot here. This is a great place for tracking and phishing. Road, rail, air services are available for going to Chail. The best time to give this place is between March and May when there is a cold. The cozy atmosphere here attracts the tourists in the summer also.
