South Korea can still achieve 3% growth rate target for 2018: Finance Minister

South Korea's finance minister has revealed the government has no plans to revise its target of three-percent growth for 2018,... saying first quarter growth was above one-percent.
In an interview with a local radio station on Thursday, Kim Dong-yeon said although on-year export growth fell in April, it picked up this month.
He added that qualitative growth and fair wealth distribution are more important than numerical growth,... saying sectors other than semiconductors should contribute to economic growth.
Kim also vowed to devise measures to raise the competitiveness of Korea's struggling automobile, shipbuilding and shipping firms that were once the backbone of the economy.
