Houston Police Heard Ordering Woman's Hands Up: 'Pretend Like We're Going to Shoot You'

Officers in Houston, Texas, were filmed on Saturday, May 19, during a traffic stop in which they ordered four individuals to exit a vehicle and at one point ordered a woman to put her hands up saying, “Pretend like we’re going to shoot you.”Denee Harris filmed the incident off Houston’s Tidwell Road. Near the 2:30 mark in the video the officer says over the loudspeaker: “Hands up! Put your hands up. Over your head! Pretend like we’re going to shoot you.” Another officer confiscated one of the passenger’s crutches, throwing them on the ground, and an officer at roughly 5:40 can be seen driving the vehicle away from the scene.Harris is heard commenting in the video, and later told Storyful News, “I was so scared I didn’t know how it was going to end.”The reason for the traffic stop and detentions were not immediately clear.
