Wednesday's market wrap

And before we turn to the weather outlook for the day,... here are your market figures.
Wall Street was up on Wednesday,... with the Dow Jones rising for a fifth straight day to the highest point in almost three weeks as surging oil prices pushed up the S&P 500's energy shares.
The Dow Jones was up three-quarters of a percent at 24,542 while the S&P 500 also added one percent to end the day at 2,697-point-7 with nine of the eleven main sectors finishing up.
IT shares added nearly one-and-a-half percent,... sending the tech-heavy Nasdaq to its highest close since late March,... at 7,339.
Shares in Korea ended mixed.
Seoul's main bourse dropped slightly with foreign traders offloading local large-cap shares,... leading to a quarter percent drop at 2,443-point-9,... but slightly a different mood on the junior index KOSDAQ,... putting on nearly three percent to close at 850.
