Chain Restaurants Required to Display Calories on Menus
  • 6 years ago
Chain restaurants and food outlets with 20 or more locations in the US are now required to display calories for each menu item.
The rule was initially part of the Affordable Care Act, but it's implementation has been stopped three times since 2011.
According to the rule, restaurants must now display the caloric content of each menu item, including saturated fat, sodium, and sugar levels.
The labeling rule was ultimately instituted by the Food and Drug Administration.
