The leaders of North and South Korea embraced along the border and pledged to work together to deescalate the Korean peninsula. South Korean President Moon Jae-in and North Korean President Kim Jong Un also agreed to work towards establishing a permanent peace accord. Fought sixty years ago, the Korean War did not end with a peace treaty. Instead, open conflict was halted with an armistice. But that prolonged truce it nearing it's end, following the summit between President's Moon and Kim.
