No sanctions will be lifted until North Korea takes concrete actions to denuclearize: White House
  • 6 years ago
The United States says it will not lift sanctions on North Korea until the regime takes "concrete actions" to denuclearize,... adding that the Trump administration's "maximum pressure" campaign remains in place.
Here's what White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders told reporters on Monday.

"We're not going to make mistakes from previous administrations and we're not going to take the North Koreans simply at their word. Like I said before and we've said many times before, the maximum pressure campaign is going to continue until we see concrete actions taken by, look we were not naive in this process. We've seen some steps in the right direction, but we have a long way to go."

Those steps in the right direction,... potentially refer to North Korea's announcement last weekend that it will close its nuclear test site and cease nuclear and missile testing.
